This week long Fiesta, holds an Encierro every morning, with fighting bulls running through the streets to the arena, and all the other traditional aspects you would expect at a Spanish Fiesta, with street parties, fun, food and drink everywhere.

This has to be one of the great festivals in the world. Known as the ‘Festival San Fermin’ by the local Spanish and famous for its ‘Bull Running’ or ‘Encierro’ it was bought to the attention of the world by the Nobel prize winning author Ernest Hemingway in his book ‘The Sun also Rises’. This ‘Fiesta’ has something for everyone with music and fun at its centre. With a history going back several hundreds of years it is held annually from the 6th July (Opening Ceremony) till the 14th July (Closing Ceremony) with the ‘Encierro’ being held every morning at 8am from the 7th to the 14th July.
From the champagne soaked opening, to the candle light procession at its close, the town hardly sleeps with an official programme that runs for 21 hours of the day. One or the many highlights are the amazing firework displays held every evening at 11pm. Our base is Camping Ezcaba, less than 10 minutes shuttle from the centre of town, so we put you at the heart of the festivities from start to finish. We are set up for the duration of the festival so you can have maximum choice of when you arrive and for how long you stay.
Join us and experience the hospitality and warmth of the local people, and marvel at their passion and stamina for this event.

Known by the uninitiated as the ‘Beerfest’ this event has been held for over 170 years and was originally a wedding celebration for the Crown Prince Ludwig and his bride Princess Theressa. It has grown to become the biggest public festival in the world and is visited annually by over 6 million people. There is nothing quite like the sensation you get on entering a ‘Beerhall’ for the first time, that has seating for 8 or 9 thousand people. With twelve major halls to choose from, each with their own distinctive style of music blaring from the brass band on stage, and an enormous range of food and schnapps stalls, you have plenty to fill the days.
Again, Festival Adventures are there for the full 16 days of the festival, which traditionally finishes on the first Sunday in October. Join us at any time during the festival and choose from our wide selection of Tours and Hotel/Hostel/Cabin/Camping packages to suit your needs.
